Eco Lesbo Vego, as the title suggests, is a blog written by an environmentally conscious vegan lesbian (that’s me!)* I’m not an expert an living a low impact life. I need the inspiration, ideas, brainstorming, support and guidance of everyone else in this effort. Just keeping the blog is helping me learn more and pinpoint where I need to focus next.
Eco Lesbo Vego is intended to help me, and anyone else who cares to read along, reduce the environmental impact of our everyday lives. Change isn’t difficult if everyone joins in, and every little bit counts. While the biggest impacts of all will occur through policy change, we can’t wait for the governments around the world to act. Grassroots action is the way to go. And if major change doesn’t happen fast enough and the worst does happen, the lifestyle alterations chronicled here should help us face life post-climate change and peak oil/coal.
To achieve this goal, Eco Lesbo Vego presents information and promotes discussion on all topics environmental, with a particular focus on topics of interest to women.
This woman-centric focus does not mean the blog cannot be read or commented on by men! Generally, Eco Lesbo Vego investigates ways to reduce individual environmental impact, and maintaining an eco-friendly lifestyle is not gender- or sexuality-specific. There are, however, some posts that women may find more useful. For example, while you might find posts outlining alternative menstrual products, it’s unlikely you’ll find a discussion of the most eco-friendly aftershave or (from a lesbian perspective), the best way to recycle condoms.
Posts on Eco Lesbo Vego include spotlights on issues faced when living low impact, feature articles on individual methods to reduce environmental impact, discussions of the latest eco-news, reviews of pretty much everything, vegan recipes and tips on the three Rs:
- Reduce
- Reuse
- Recycle.
We’re all in this effort together. Please comment and add to the discussion; put forth ideas and work out the best ways to make an impact – then act!

You have a great blog here with great tips. I love getting rid of things I don’t need anymore. Recycle them or give to the poor is what I usually do with my items.
