I was just looking at pictures of Shirley on Edgar’s Mission’s facebook yesterday and feeling all happy cos he’s ‘my’ cow! I guess I should say he’s ‘our’ cow lol. I’m going to have to renew my sponsorship for my next birthday.

Congratulations to you too on going vegan! It’s a great feeling, isn’t it? Did you do so mostly for humane reasons? That’s how I got started but environmental reasons have grown to become an equal concern for me, and now health reasons are becoming more apparent as well.

I haven’t watched Earthlings… I’m a bit afraid it will be graphic and horrible – doesn’t it show footage of abattoirs and stuff like that? That kind of freaks me out.

I’ll have to look into the non-oil-based plastics and check out their biodegradable credentials again; it’s been a while. From memory, I thought those kinds of plastics biodegraded only if exposed to sunlight and since most plastic goes into dark, anaerobic land-fill, they don’t really biodegrade after all. But as I said, it’s been a while… I’ll have to check it out again.

However, I might give the lobster shells a miss. They don’t really mix so well with my vegan ethos lol. Cheers though!
